Instructor Charged With Assault of 13-Year-Old

George Mendoza-Valentino, 27, apparently met the victim when she enrolled at the Springfield A.T.A. Martial Arts Academy branch. He sexually assaulted her at his academy multiple times in the last month, according to a prosecutor. An investigation also revealed that Mendoza-Valentino sent the victim sexually explicit images and videos and asked her to do the same. Read more...

Boyfriend Charged in Child Abuse Case

An Eagle Grove man has been arrested and charged in connection with a child abuse case. Police said they investigated a report of a possible child abuse on Feb. 27. A young boy and his brother were interviewed. The boy was sent to the Iowa Specialty Hospital in Clarion for treatment after the boys claimed that their mother's boyfriend, Jordan Elton Olson, 30, had assaulted the boy. Read more...

Baby's Death Leads to Charges of Incest

A man and his daughter are being held on charges murder, cruelty to children and cruelty to a physically disabled person, after the body of a 15-month-old girl was brought to a Georgia hospital. Police said Calvin Mcintosh, 44, brought his unresponsive daughter, Alcenti, to Northside Hospital in Sandy Springs. She was declared dead on arrival and police were called. Read more...

Elder Care Home Owner Arrested

The owner of an elder care home was arrested in Auburn, accused of raping an 83-year-old resident. Officers were called to Auburn's Adult Care by a family member of an 83-year-old woman, reporting sexual abuse. The family of the woman had hidden a camera inside her room, suspecting that something wasn't right. The camera caught the man sexually assaulting the elderly woman. Police said when they saw the video, they immediately arrested the owner, Laszlo Molnar. Read more...

Mom Pleads Not Guilty to Child Abuse

A Delaware County woman accused of numerous heinous acts against nine children in her custody pleaded not guilty on at her district court arraignment. Deidre Matthews, 47, and her estranged husband, Jerry Dean Matthews, 63, both of Jay, are charged in Delaware County District Court with 10 counts of child abuse, seven counts of child neglect and enabling child abuse. Deidre Matthews faces four additional counts of child abuse and child endangerment. Read more...

Man Charged With Sexual Assault of Dog

A Bristol, Tennessee man is jailed on charges of crimes against nature. According to the Washington County, Virginia Sheriff's Office, 47-year-old James Michael Foran was charged with sexually assaulting a dog. The dog's owner told officers he felt his female dog, a Labrador mix, had been sexually assaulted at a location on Wallace Pike in Washington County, Virginia. Foran was arrested after a DNA sample taken from the dog was a match. Read more...

A registered sex offender was arrested by Dover police after a report that he engaged in sex with a 14-year-old girl, police said. Fletcher Tilghman, 35, of Dover, was charged with seven counts of third-degree rape, unlawful sexual contact and unlawful sexual contact against a child by a sex offender, said Cpl. Mark Hoffman. Sex Offender Leads Officers to Missing Teen

A registered sex offender led police to a missing 13-year-old girl. Jercore Jones, 34 is in jail facing one count of drug paraphernalia and two counts of lewd and lascivious conduct. Sex Offender Now Faces 8 Felonies

A convicted sex offender who was arrested in connection with an August home invasion in Clifton Park, has been charged with eight felonies, according to the Saratoga County District Attorney's Office. Alvin W. Dubois Jr., 58, of Rensselaer was charged with the following felonies: two counts of burglary, two counts of sexually motivated burglary, assault, sexually motivated assault, strangulation and sexually motivated strangulation. Tempe Police Arrest Sexual Assault Suspect

Police announced that they've taken into custody a suspected sexual predator accused in a series of incidents in Tempe and Mesa, including the sexual assault of a 91-year-old Tempe woman last month. Woman Pleads Guilty in Child Abuse

A woman has admitted that she left children alone with two men she knew were registered sex offenders. Sherry Ann Oats, 49, of Davenport pleaded guilty to one count child endangerment with injury, a Class D felony, and four counts of child endangerment, an aggravated misdemeanor. The felony count stems from one of the minor victims being sexually abused by the men. Read more...

Court documents describe disturbing details of how two Indiana University students were raped at gunpoint. Nineteen-year-old Vaylen Glazewood and 19-year-old Michael Deweese stood before a judge for their initial court appearance where they face multiple charges. Police say Glazewood and Deweese forced themselves inside a bottom-floor apartment in the 500 block of East 12th Street. Teacher, Ex-Husband Charged With Rape

An Ohio elementary school teacher and her ex-husband were arrested for the rape of a 12-year-old child and face charges in the double digits, according to reports. Lori Ann Anderson, 50, pleaded not guilty to 25 charges, including sexual battery and gross sexual imposition. The Cridersville Elementary School teacher's ex-husband, Charles Clayton Wycuff, was arrested on 53 criminal charges, including rape involving force, coercion and drugs. Read more...

Mom Charged With Murder of 3-Year-Old

Tylesha Griffin, 22, is currently facing one charge of first degree murder, according to a statement from the Chicago Police Department. A police source later confirmed that the young boy was her son. Griffin and the boy's father had found him unresponsive in his bed at their home, authorities told reporters at the time. Texas police have busted 20 people for allegedly soliciting sex from children online in a sting operation, authorities said. Eighteen men and two women were arrested after trying to meet with who they thought were underage girls, but who were really undercover police officers, McLennan County Sheriff Parnell McNamara said Wednesday. Man Charged With Raping 7-Year-Old Girl

A 24-year-old City of Beacon man was charged with raping a 7-year-old girl, said police Chief Doug Solomon. Carlos Castillo Aquino was charged with first-degree rape. "It was a female victim who he was acquainted with," Solomon said. "The crime occurred about a month ago and it was just disclosed the other day." 3 Mothers Charged With Child Edangerment

Three Western New York mothers are each accused of leaving their children alone in the car while tanning. West Seneca police made the arrests in separate incidents dating back to April at Zoom Tan on Seneca Street. Nina Poliseno of Cheektowaga is the latest to be charged with endangering the welfare of a child after police received an anonymous tip. Officer Gregory Kinner said the roughly 3-month-old child was left in a running car. Last month police say Brittany Null of Tonawanda did the same thing. Teen Arrested for Cocaine, Child Endangerment

A San Benito teen is arrested for cocaine possession and child endangerment after police received a call about the welfare of three children under his care. San Benito police were dispatched to a home on the 400 block of Commerce Street where they encountered a man exiting the home wearing blue latex gloves on his hands and blood on his shirt. He was identified as Jesus Garcia, 19, and detained by officers after they detected a strong odor of urine coming from inside the home. Read more...

Teen Planned to Kill Parents, Attack School

A Maryland teenager told police he planned to use a stolen handgun to kill his parents, then drive to his high school and kill students and teachers as revenge for years of bullying he suffered, according to court documents. Sash Alexander Nemphos, 16, of Monkton, is being charged as an adult with six counts including handgun possession, possession of a destructive device, having a dangerous weapon on school property and theft, CBS Baltimore reported. Abduction Suspect Had Previous Victim

The man accused of abducting a woman off a Philadelphia street is also a suspect in the abduction and rape of a Virginia teen. Delvin Barnes, 37, was arrested along the side of a road in Jessup, Maryland. Barnes was caught on surveillance video abducting 22-year-old Carlesha Freeland-Gaither off a Philadelphia street Sunday, according to investigators. Freeland-Gaither was found alive in Barnes' car Wednesday at the same location where he was arrested. Read more...

An Alabama man accused of imprisoning, raping and filming sex acts with his young son was found dead Monday night, hanging in a cell as he was headed to face federal charges in New York, the man's attorney said. Carl Philip Herold, who also faced some 18 child sex counts in Alabama stemming from the sickening abuse, likely committed suicide as he prepared to to face the charges Nov. 21 in a Syracuse federal court, attorney Adam Bollaert told AL.com. A mother's boyfriend tortured a 3-year-old boy to death, hanging him upside down by his feet, striking him with a whip, taping him to a chair and beating him so badly that when he finally wound up in the emergency room nurses "wept," according to Chester County prosecutors. Teen Charged in 2 Lakefront Sexual Assaults

A 17-year-old was ordered held in lieu of $400,000 bail after he was charged as an adult with sexually assaulting two women along the lakefront running path in Hyde Park, police said. Raekwon Franklin was charged with two counts of aggravated criminal sexual assault with bodily injury and misdemeanor obstructing identification, according to authorities. Mom Turns in Sex Offender Son

A 19-year-old sex assault suspect in Colorado was handed over to authorities last week by his mother, who "vowed to take care" of the situation involving her fugitive son after she found out about the charges. Police in Fort Collins called it a "very unusual situation" after the mother drove from Colorado to Wyoming to pick up her son, who unbeknownst to him was being transported by his mom to a deputy waiting at the jail. A mother accused of leaving her 7-year-old son in the car wearing only shorts while she was either asleep or passed out in her apartment, was arrested for investigation of child abuse with criminal negligence. Police have arrested Calvin Antony Lester on a charge of aggravated sexual assault in the Oct. 5 rape. Lester, 29, was taken into custody, police spokesman Joe Harn said. 16-Year-Old Girl Raped at Frat House

A 16-year-old girl reported that she was raped at a Johns Hopkins University fraternity over the weekend, according to law enforcement sources. University officials ordered the fraternity to cease activities as Baltimore police investigate. The alleged sexual assault was reported to have occurred about 1:30 that morning at the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity house in the 2900 block of St. Paul St. A female told police she was assaulted by two men; neither is believed to be affiliated with the school.
