A Real Duke Rape Case

By Selwyn Duke / The New American
We all remember the infamous Duke University rape frame-up case, in which three white lacrosse players were falsely accused of raping a black female stripper. It was front-page news coast to coast, as it had all the elements of a mainstream-media cause célèbre: the perfect victim and the perfect villains, a “downtrodden” black woman of modest means and three “privileged” white college boys. Thus did the hard-left alliance of media, academia, and a Democrat prosecutor try its best to lynch the three, and if the stripper’s story hadn’t changed with the wind, the students could very well be sitting in prison currently. But now we have a real Duke rape case, and one that largely conforms to the above narrative. Frank Lombard, Duke’s associate director of the Center for Health Policy, faces federal criminal charges for offering his adopted five-year-old son for sex. Where are the parallels? Lombard is white and well-to-do while his victim, the son, is black (Lombard also has a second adopted son, who is black as well).

`Gay' Duke U. Official Attempts to Sell Black 5-Year-Old Son for Sex

Frank Lombard is an associate director at Duke University's Global Health Institute and a homosexual who was charged last week with the molestation of his adopted 5-year-old black son and actively trying to sell him for sex on the internet. The 40 words above are 40 more than the Main Stream Media has said on this horrible story. In nearly a week since Lombard was arrested, not one national broadcast or cable television news show has picked up the story. Compare this to the weeks on end of sensational coverage of the white male lacrosse players of the same university charged with rape several years ago.

Adulterous S.C. Governor Resists Pressure to Resign

Sanford Losing Support of Republicans
South Carolina Gov. Mark Sanford defied calls for his resignation yesterday from GOP leaders, insisting he will remain in office even as his political fortunes dimmed in the wake of his admission that he secretly traveled abroad to meet a mistress. Nearly two dozen GOP lawmakers called on Sanford to step down, saying he has lost credibility, in part by making such personal comments to the Associated Press, some of which contradicted earlier statements. "What we saw in that interview was just him being irrational," state Sen. Larry A. Martin (R) said in an interview. "The very idea that he would be that candid, that frank, that brutally honest about his feelings for the woman in Argentina versus his wife versus the other girlfriends, I just find that incredible. Rational people don't do that."

Victim Says Homophobia Still A Major Problem `But There's A Way to Heal Homophobia'

On the 10-year anniversary of one of the north state's most infamous hate crimes, Jason York says the homophobia that led to the killings of gay couple Gary Matson and Winfield Mowder is still alive and well. York, who married Jeramie Henderson in October before the passage of Proposition 8, walked to his car early Friday in his south Redding neighborhood to find homophobic slurs roughly scratched all over it.

Healing Homophobia
Whenever someone is quoted in the press using the word homophobe the application of this word is misused and confusing. Understanding the correct usage of this word will help identify people who are suffering from this affliction and as a result place them on the road to recovery.

Ex-Edwards Aide Appears At Federal Courthouse

RALEIGH, N.C. -- An ex-aide to John Edwards who claimed he fathered a child born to the mistress of the two-time Democratic presidential candidate spent Wednesday in a federal courthouse, but declined to talk with a reporter about an investigation into his former boss. With his lawyer at his side, Andrew Young at about 8:30 a.m. walked into the building in Raleigh where a grand jury was meeting. The longtime Edwards loyalist simply smiled as he went by and declined to comment. He did not leave through a public entrance, and his attorney, David Geneson, did not return repeated calls from The Associated Press. A few months before the crucial 2008 caucuses in Iowa, where Edwards placed second to eventual President Barack Obama, Young publicly declared that he was the father of Rielle Hunter's baby. Edwards has admitted to an affair with Hunter that he says ended in 2006. That year, Edwards' political action committee paid Hunter's video production firm $100,000 for work. Then the committee paid another $14,086 on April 1, 2007.

Baptist Deacon Sentenced to 225 Years for Molesting Three Girls

ROCKY MOUNT, VA -- Several character witnesses testified Monday on Dean Harold Stone's behalf during his trial on molestation charges, including two ministers who have counseled him. One said Stone is seeking biblical forgiveness, as well as the forgiveness of the victims. But despite the talk of forgiveness and repentance, Franklin County Circuit Court Judge William Alexander imposed sentences that exceeded the state's guidelines on the 12 charges Stone faced. Stone is a danger to young girls, Alexander said, imposing a 225-year sentence. Stone, 45, pleaded guilty in April to the 12 felony sex crimes, which included nine charges of aggravated sexual battery and three counts of inanimate or animate object sexual penetration. The incidents occurred between 2006 and 2008 when two of the girls were 13 or younger, and the third was between the ages of 14 and 16.

The Fix: Sanford Admits to More Contact With Mistress

Sanford's very candid interview with the AP has the potential to derail what looked to be the increasing likelihood that he would hold on to his job. The most problematic admission by Sanford in the interview is that he had strayed with other women but had not had sex with them. Add that startling revelation to a number of odd quotes Sanford gave regarding his affair -- that his mistress "is his soul mate, but he will try to fall back in love with his wife" among others -- and you can see how Sanford has managed to pour fuel on a fire that appeared to be nearly out.

Keeper of St. Norbert Church Pedo-Priests Now Accused of Boy Rape

DELAWARE -- The two-year window of Delaware's 2007 Child Victim's Act is about to close, putting an end to a steady stream of civil lawsuits alleging child sexual abuse that dates to the 1950s and reaches to churches, schools and private homes. The 2007 law eliminated the civil statute of limitations in such cases and opened the two-year period during which cases previously barred by the time limit could be filed. More than 140 cases had been filed as of Friday, attorneys said, and lawmakers last week unanimously approved legislation to clarify that the deadline for the cases should be July 9 -- marking exactly two years since Gov. Ruth Ann Minner signed the act into law. Some judges and attorneys previously thought the window closes Tuesday, the last day of the fiscal year.

Adultery: Sanford Apologizes to Cabinet, Won't Say if He Will Quit

COLUMBIA, S.C. -- Fighting pressure to resign, South Carolina Gov. Mark Sanford moved to regain control of his government Friday and gave no indication that he will step down, even as the chaos surrounding his week-long disappearance to Argentina and confession of an extramarital affair showed few signs of abating. The two-term Republican governor evoked Christian Scripture in his first public appearance since admitting the affair two days earlier, saying he is "on that larger voyage that we're all on in life" and that he is merely "trying to survive the day."

SULLIVANS ISLAND, S.C. -- When South Carolina Gov. Mark Sanford disappeared, his wife hoped he was really hiking on the Appalachian Trail as his staff had claimed. Like the rest of America, she was stunned to find out he had dared to go to Argentina to see his mistress, a trip she told him not to take. "He was told in no uncertain terms not to see her," Jenny Sanford said in a strong, steady voice as she sat in her oceanfront living room Friday. "I was hoping he was on the Appalachian Trail. But I was not worried about his safety. I was hoping he was doing some real soul searching somewhere and devastated to find out it was Argentina. It's tragic."
